The Third Prank - part 4

Yeah, one thing was painting Mickey's face with a watermarker; another one was (being kind of responsible of posibly permanently) staining Mickey's undershirt in a night when he barely got enough sleep.

The Third Prank - part 3

Once again, Kurohane helped me out on drawing "the handsome" mental version of Mickey... but everytime I tried to add some color to the drawing, it kept losing its manga-ish style, so I had to leave that way...

Until next time.

River City Pixels by David Vargas

This time I present you a very special collaboration by David Vargas, the talented artist behind The Adventures of Dave the Direman and Squishy Comics, from www.direman.com, website I visit every day, since I'm always in the need for a laugh or two.

I hope you enjoy the comic as much as did... Thanks Dave!

The Third Prank

This comic is the follow up of the unfinished story of "Talking about Mickey" from a while ago, which was about the kind of pranks we play to Mickey in spite of the consequences.

This particular comic will commence a new story-arc about the third prank I remember playing to Mickey, which I announced before.

Also, I'd like to add that I love weekly updates, which are officially every Friday, but if I can't do it on Friday, I'll do them on Saturday, and if I fail to do it on Saturday, there's always a Sunday!

Optimus and the Guardian of Metal, part 2

Originally, I was going to make fun of another musical genre, but in the end I went after Reggaeton, not only because of its stupid rhythm, but mainly because of its offensive and utterly misogynist lyrics.

By the way, if you're thinking that the Mighty Rock Hand in the final panel looks like the 3chorddorks logo, you're wrong; I deliberately designed the Mighty Rock Hand like the 3chorddorks logo, since I couldn't think in anything more appropriate for it (it's pixelated, it's about rock, and its from one of my favorite webcomics on the web.)

Update: Kevin Griffin (3chordcomics author) responded to my e-mail, and told me he's fine with it, he's such a great guy, isn't he?

Optimus and the Guardian of Metal

I've finally decided that friday is going to be the official day for updates over here (it's easier for me to commit on this specific day).

Anyway, I couldn't quite let go the BrĂ¼tal Legend setting, so I deviced a couple of gags based on the Guardian of Metal and the resurrection of Mickey's vehicle: Optimus.

How Solid is the AAA Game Industry?

This comic was my entry on April's Writing Challenge on Bitmob. You can check my entry over here, and the work collection over here.

I'm still amazed to see that I can still draw cute little things by my own hand, I don't think I'll keep doing it, but still... It's good to keep that skill at hand.

By the way, updates are coming people! Just wait a little bit...

Brutal Legend

What can I say? This is my sprite-based homage to Brutal Legend. If you catch at least one of the classic rock references on this comic, and you haven't try this game yet, you own yourself to play it.

Critical Miss

Hey, guys!

Have you ever read Critical Miss? Well, it's one of my favorite webcomics. Created by Johnathan Grey Carter and Cory Ridel for The Escapist, It's the story about Erin Stout, a videogame journalist for a fictitious website called Out of Tens.

So, anyway, something weird happened to her after a car accident, and now she hallucinates about videogame characters all day... Long story short, over here.

Why am I telling you this? Well, one of his artists took a brief vacation so they held a little contest in order to have a couple of guest artist to cover him up. As you may've realized, I entered the contest (check my pixelated Erin!) and even tough I didn't win I had a lot of fun making my submission.

The strip I draw is related to one of Erin's early hallucinations, so I recommend you to check this before you go on.

So, anyway J. G. Carter posted all the submissions on his tumblr account, and you can check mine over here.

UPDATE: Since the link from above doesn't seem to work anymore, I have no other alternative than upload the comic myself, check it out:

Say, Please - Part 2

Actually, this didn't happen, it's just a recreation about how could it be.

Anyway, these last two comics would be better understood by those people with a daughter or a younger sister... No matter what, you just want to hurt them so much.

Talking About Mickey - Part 5

Yep. It's a real story and I swear it was an accident. I didn't realize that Mickey was holding himself from the frame of the taxi when I slammed the door (talking about the things you shouldn't do.)

Since Mickey's girlfriend was there (the girl in the middle) he had to restrain himself from killing me. By the way, I always wondered how a Mickey's Super Combo looked like... now I have a good impresion about that.

Without Items

This is a true story. Before this incident, there was just one time when we agreed on playing without items, and since Walt didn't know he could disable them, we were playing with items on... we just agreed no to use them.

To make sure no one would use the items, there was a "beat the crap out of anyone using items" penalty.

Talking About Mickey - Part 4

Just a reminder. River City Pixels doesn't support any racist movement of any kind. Mickey is an actual old friend of ours who can deal with a joke about the color of his skin.

Also, as implied at the end of the comic, we both got what we deserved for being such a pair of idiots... True story.
